The Entity
Cosmic architects seeding humanity with power and peril.
The Entities are extraterrestrial intelligences that arrived on Earth Bet to harvest human potential for their own evolution. They operate by distributing fragments of themselves, known as Shards, which bond with humans to grant superpowers. While humanity perceives these powers as gifts or curses, they serve the Entities' goal of creating a complex ecosystem from which they can draw energy and information.

Lore & Background
The relationship between humans and these beings is parasitic yet symbiotic. Humans gain abilities that allow them to shape reality, but they are unknowingly fueling the growth of their alien masters. The Entities use the stress of conflict, particularly through the Endbringer attacks, to force humanity into higher states of potentiality. Ultimately, the surviving Entity was destroyed by a human wielding remnants of its dead rival.
In Their Own Story
The connection felt less like electricity and more like a cold hand gripping the spine from the inside. She stood on the rooftop, wind whipping her hair, but she wasn't feeling the breeze anymore. The Shard whispered without sound, showing her stars that weren't in the sky. It showed her the ship descending through clouds of fire centuries ago, the war between gods hidden beneath the oceans. For a moment, she saw not herself, but a golden silhouette towering over cities, blind to love and grief, only seeing resources to be harvested.
Reader's Guide
Entities function by distributing Shards, small fragments of their consciousness that bond with humans. These shards grant abilities ranging from physical enhancement to reality warping, effectively turning humanity into a resource for the beings' evolution. Each shard is unique, tailored to its host's psyche, creating diverse powers across the globe. However, this relationship comes at a terrible cost. The Entities generate Endbringers as automated defense systems and stress tests, forcing parahumans to fight and evolve under extreme pressure. These monsters periodically attack major cities, causing massive casualties that the Entities use to gauge human resilience and potential. The avatar of one Entity, known publicly as Scion, acted as a direct interface between his master and humanity for decades. While initially perceived as a hero, he eventually became the primary antagonist when his host entity sought to leave Earth Bet after its rival was defeated. Ultimately, defeating an Entity requires using the remnants of a dead counterpart, exploiting the connection between their shards to sever the link permanently.
